A NATIONAL INITIATIVE FOR MONETARY STABILITY

FOR A FINANCIALLY SECURE LEBANON
An independent coalition-building platform dedicated to advancing a credible, practical, and lasting solution to Lebanon’s monetary crisis.

THE PROPOSED FRAMEWORK

Our initiative promotes the implementation of a Currency Board as a rules-based monetary framework capable of restoring confidence in the Lebanese pound and ending the cycle of discretionary monetary mismanagement.

HOW A CURRENCY BOARD WORKS

A Currency Board would anchor Lebanon’s currency to a stable foreign reserve currency under strict legal and institutional rules.

It would limit arbitrary money creation, impose discipline on monetary policy, and help rebuild confidence through transparency, credibility, and full reserve backing.

FROM DIAGNOSIS TO IMPLEMENTATION

The National Initiative for Monetary Stability seeks to move the conversation from diagnosis to implementation.

Lebanon does not only need to understand why the collapse happened; it needs a realistic path toward monetary order, institutional discipline, and economic recovery.

BUILDING THE FOUNDATION FOR ECONOMIC RENEWAL

Our mission is to build national awareness, public understanding, and institutional support for the implementation of a Currency Board in Lebanon as a cornerstone of monetary stability and economic renewal.

The National Initiative for Monetary Stability seeks to move the debate from diagnosis to solution. Lebanon has already paid the price of weak monetary governance, discretionary policy, and the collapse of confidence.

THE COUNTRY NOW NEEDS A CLEAR, RULES-BASED FRAMEWORK CAPABLE OF

1. PROTECTING THE VALUE OF MONEY
2. LIMITING ARBITRARY MONETARY EXPANSION
3. REBUILDING TRUST IN THE FINANCIAL SYSTEM

We believe that a Currency Board offers Lebanon a practical and credible path toward that objective. By anchoring the currency to strict rules, full reserve backing, and institutional discipline, it can help restore confidence, protect purchasing power, and create the monetary foundations needed for investment, growth, and reform.

At the heart of our mission is a simple conviction: restoring confidence in the national pound is the first step toward restoring confidence in Lebanon itself.
